Brownlip Shell is a type of oyster native to the western and central Indo-Pacific oceans. Its shells are harvested for Mother of Pearl and other types of shell jewelry. Spiny oysters used for jewelry are mainly found in the Pacific and in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea.
